UT's Pearl Misled NCAA Investigators
The Associated Press is reporting that the NCAA is headed to Knoxville to conduct an investigation into the entire athletic department. The NCAA had previously interviewed men's basketball Coach Bruce Pearl in June and he apparently has acknowledged that he misled the investigators about excessive contact with recruits. AD Mike Hamilton has already imposed a significant financial penalty on Pearl and has banned him from off campus recruiting for a year.
Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton is reducing Pearl's pay by $1.5 million over five years and prohibiting him from participating in off-campus recruiting for one year. To read more, click here.
