Too Many Bowl Games and Too Few Teams
With 35 post season bowl games it is probable that there will not be 70 teams with winning records, which is an NCAA requirement for participation. The NCAA is starting to look into relaxing the rule. Hopefully, the elimination of many of these "let's celebrate mediocrity" bowl games will be one of the long term outcomes.
A year ago, there were 34 bowl games and only 71 bowl-eligible teams for the 68 berths.To read more, click here.
