Nebraska and Colorado Settle with Big XII
The league will withhold $9.255 million from the revenues otherwise distributable to Nebraska when it leaves for the Big Ten next summer and $6,863,600 from Colorado as it moves to the Pac-10. Nebraska won't immediately share in the Big Ten's higher revenue numbers, but it is expected that within several years that revenue share will be in the $20 million range.
Bringing closure to loose ends and averting litigation and a clunky scheduling scenario for next year, the Big 12 on Tuesday finalized exit settlements with Nebraska and Colorado — which had been targeting 2012 for its departure but now will join the Cornhuskers in leaving after this school year.
