NCAA Places University of San Francisco on Probation
The NCAA placed USF on probation for various violations. At the heart of the decision are multiple counts of improper use of athletic scholarship funds, which include cash purchases for student-athletes in the campus bookstore and multiple long-distance phone calls made by student-athletes from a restricted university long-distance access code.
The probationary period will last until 2012, and neither restricts the Dons' participation in postseason play nor reduces the number of scholarships available. To read more, click here.
