Texas A&M Wants $20 Million From Big 12
The Houston Chronicle is reporting that during the discussions about staying in the Big 12, Commissioner Dan Beebe promised Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma that they would get $20 million annually from conference distributions. While Texas and Oklahoma have released the conference from that obligation, Texas A&M's president says the Aggies intend to hold the conference to that promise.
The A&M official said Wednesday it wasn’t the school’s “concern” how the Big 12 got its money together for the revenue distribution — just that it lived up to its promise of $20 million annually, starting in 2012-13. The league’s pledge is oral, and the A&M official said the school’s lawyers are working to get the commitment in writing. To read more, click here.
