Societal Benefits of Female Participation in Athletics Reviewed
Keith O'Brien of the Boston Globe reviews a recent study published in the Review of Economics and Statistics on the positive effects that the participation of females in athletics can have on their lives and how society benefits as a result.
The findings are significant for one key reason: They take the conversation about sports out of the realm of abstraction and into the world of clear benefit.
