Season ticket packages across the board are $50 more in each non-student seating section despite one fewer home game this season. Packages are $450 for six games, compared with $400 for seven games last season. “Demand is very strong for season tickets,” AD Bill Byrne contended. “Our waiting list is 4,500 tickets strong."

Missouri State announced a three-year contract with Collegiate Consulting to help the school drive ticket sales for their athletic events. “They’ll have three people, a general manager and (two) account executives selling tickets strictly for athletics,” MSU athletic director Kyle Moats said.

Georgia State’s athletic department commissioned a report that explores the expenses and revenues associated with moving from FCS, in which the Panthers currently play, to FBS, which features bowl games and the BCS. The report concludes that “GSU is well-positioned to make a transition to FBS” and “that the Sun Belt would be the best fit.”

The Mountaineers will be responsible for most of the $20 million resolution, but will get assistance from the Big 12 Conference. The Charleston Daily Mail reported last week that the deal involves an $11 million cash settlement and $9 million from a second source. The high settlement amount must reflect the weak legal argument West Virginia advanced in its lawsuit against the Big East.
