Florida State Vacates 94 Wins
Academic violations cited
Florida State has conceded in its fight against the NCAA regarding academic violations. The institution vacated a total of 94 wins involving ineligible student-athletes resulting from an academic cheating scandal. Among the vacated wins were 12 football victories and a 2007 men's track national championship. The NCAA stripped the school of wins in which 61 athletes implicated in the scandal contributed. It upheld its decision last month after Florida State appealed the sanctions as excessive. The school said it would return all vacated trophies to the appropriate agencies this year.
