Graduate Assistant - Marketing/Promotions & Tickets-South Dakota State University

Marketing/Promotions Responsibilities-assist in all aspects of marketing SDSU Athletics. Primary responsibilities include oversight of the Junior Jacks youth fan club, and day-to-day operations of the Rabbit Den, official student fan club of SDSU. The position will oversee production and execution of game scripts at volleyball, soccer, wrestling, and softball; develop marketing plans for soccer, wrestling, and softball that will help boost attendance, increase exposure, and enhance the game day fan experience; serve as sales associate in ticket sales call center in generating season, group, and corporate ticket revenue; assist with planning and implementation of game promotions; design collateral pieces for GoJacks.com, local newspaper, and other mediums; and other duties as assigned.

Tickets Responsibilities- assist in the outbound sales of season, group and individual game tickets; management of gameday operations for all sports, including parking, tailgating, tickets, pass lists, and crowd control; coordinating distribution of season and single game tickets; helping organize and manage special events including team reunions, groups outings, tailgating, and youth clinics; preparing daily revenue reconciliation, financial reports, and audits; programming of ticket software program (Neulion); and providing the highest level of customer service in the daily operations of the Jackrabbit Ticket Office.

Additional Salary Information: Includes 2/3 graduate tuition reduction, in-state tuition rates, and a stipend.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, advertising or related field. Candidate must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and a willingness to work nights and weekends hours. Experience working in sports marketing or event management at the collegiate or professional level, and graphic design capabilities with Adobe Suite preferred. Acceptance into graduate school at South Dakota State is required before candidate can officially be offered the position. This is a two-year graduate assistantship starting in the fall of 2012 and ending in the spring of 2014.
