Director of Athletics-Assumption College
The successful candidate will be responsible for intercollegiate athletics and implementation of all college and departmental policies related to Athletics. Candidates must demonstrate a thorough understanding of NCAA policies and Division II Athletics. As a member of the Vice President for Student Affairs’ leadership team, the Athletic Director works collaboratively with other members of the team and provides and solicits regular feedback among them. S/he actively builds partnerships with deans and directors, campus and community partners, alumni, and parents. The Athletics Director oversees professional development, evaluation of the Athletics staff, assumes leadership and participation on committees, prepares and monitors the budget, coordinates use of athletic facilities, and represents the College at regional and national meetings. Requirements include: at a minimum, ten years experience in athletics administration; expertise in supervision, fundraising, and coaching. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership, and excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate an appreciation of the importance of diversity in staffing and programming and provide evidence of success in the development of strong supervisory and collegial relationships. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred. A member of NCAA Division II and the NE10, the athletics programs include twelve intercollegiate sports for women and eleven for men. Review of applications will begin in February and continue until the position is filled. This is a 12-month appointment. Salary and benefits are competitive. The position will begin on June 1, 2012.
